Who can apply to the EACS program?

To be eligible for admission, applicants must be between the ages of 15 - 21 and must have officially withdrawn from school. Candidates who have not dropped out of school and are seriously at risk of doing so may be referred for consideration by a parent, public school principal, assistant principal, guidance counselor or an authorized school official. How to apply for admission? Students wishing to enter EACS need to complete an EACS application, submit a complete school transcript, and participate in an interview to determine oral communication skills and motivation, and sign an agreement to abide by the rules of the EACS. Students who meet all of the above criteria are admitted to EACS on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no tuition for students attending charter schools.

What does EACS offer?

In order to engage the students in active learning, EACS teaches academic subjects in interactive experiential ways within an interdisciplinary environment. In order to connect the worlds of work and school, EACS offers job skills training, job placement assistance, community service opportunities, and elective credit for employment. EACS develops basic academic competencies, higher order thinking skills and abstract theoretical understanding.

How are classes scheduled?

Classes are held Monday - Friday from 7:45 am to 11:40 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. EACS follows a two semester academic schedule: Fall (September - December) and Spring (January - June).

Does EACS have Support Services?

Yes. EACS provides each student with counseling in academic, personal and career areas. Tutors are available in all academic subject areas. All textbooks are loaned to registered students and may be used until the end of the semester, when they must be returned. EACS also provides students with transportation and food services.
